Mid Roofing Website Usability

Mid Roofing are roofing specialists based in Hamilton. They provide professional roofing services throughout Hamilton, Waikato & Auckland.

Let’s take a look at the usability of their website.

The site has good design. Easy to navigate around. The site has good call to action which is clearly visible to users. The site has the business phone number at the top and a contact form right in front of the site visitors.

Let’s take a look at the website from SEO perspective.

  1. The title of the home page does not says what the business does.
  2. There is no H1 tag in the page.
  3. The meta tag is same across all pages of the website.

Google looks at all these points in order to index the website in the search results.

The site is not optimized from SEO perspective and will not rank well in Google search results. That means the website will not generate many leads until this is fixed. However Duoplus will be fixing this for them.

Jenco Electrical Website Usability

Electrician Auckland

Jenco Electrical are Registered Master Electricians based in Auckland. They provide all kinds of electrical services in Auckland.

Let’s review the usability of their site.

The design of the site is simple and clean.  The site has the business phone number at the top of the page which makes it easy for site visitors to call the business. They have 3 testimonies on the home page which can build trust among website visitors.

From marketing point view, the site does not have a clear call to action which is visible to the site visitor when they are on the website.

The site is built using Joomla CMS which uses an outdated version of Joomla, which is not supported now. And it’s so confusing to make changes to the website using the Joomla Editor.

Now Lets talk about WordPress CMS. The most popular CMS on the web. It’s easy to make changes to the website using the WordPress Editor and the CMS is updated frequently and has a larger community base. So WordPress is far better than Joomla.

Good Technology Adds Data Security to Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Microsoft’s CRM solution marries Good Technology’s secure container and app-level security today. Good Technology, a provider of secure mobility solutions, developed this on the Good Dynamics Secure Mobility Platform.

Destination CRM claims, ” the Good-secured version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM provides IT with app-level security controls necessary to protect customer and financial data within the Good secure mobile app container, allowing sales teams to use Dynamics CRM securely on corporate-owned or personal iPads.”

This works by keeping contact email links invoke secure email in Good Work and keeping all customer data under IT control and far away from personal email apps.

New CRM Tool Mines Email Interactions

Customer relations are complex. In a bid to simplify them, Bullhorn introduced a new tool called Pulse. Computer World claims,

“Pulse is a new, stand-alone software-as-a-service product that’s designed to give user companies instant insight into the health of their relationships with customers and other contacts. Using a built-in email-tracking system, Pulse automatically mines email communications and analyzes them in real time.”

It goes without saying that the companies who will receive the most benefit from this tool are those who deal with a multitude of customer complaints, queries and comments. It delivers cross-department visibility into who knows who, who has strong relationships and who engages the most with certain organisations.

The great thing about this tool is it doesn’t matter what email system your company uses. Bullhorn’s passive email tracking is integrated with Outlook, Gmail, Office 365 alongside social media platforms such as Twitter and LinkedIn.

Standard Commercial Security Systems

Commercial security is non-negotiable. By deciding to leave your business insecure, you have practically signed your resignation form. Don’t believe me? Imagine this: a very well known businessman has watched his business flourish over the year. Clients are plentiful, competitors struggle to keep up and doubters have been silenced. That is until someone realises he doesn’t even use a password – anyone can (and eventually does) get into his computer and steals all his files.

Leaving your business without proper security is very much like refusing to be a password and being surprised when things go wrong. Don’t be alarmed, there still is time to save your business through use of security systems.

The ChubbWatch Standard Commercial Security System is one of the best options available as far as standard security packages go. This security system is your businesses guard dog – except it never sleeps. By operating 24 hours, 7 days a week, you can be assured your assets, and even more importantly – your information, is protected. Features include:

  • Alarm Panel
  • LED Keypad
  • 2 Flush Mount Piezo internal sirens
  • Chubb Delta external siren
  • 2 PIR sensors
  • 2 Door contact reed switches
  • Backup battery
  • 4 Warning Stickers
  • Installation and Labour

National Business Review Website Usability

National Business Review Website

Screen shot 2015-02-18 at 5.35.54 PM

The National Business Review’s website is a hub of news and sources relating to New Zealand’s business environment. To make the website more usable for a wider demographic, the site offers a Chinese section with articles typed in Chinese alongside a Chinese stock market table. Although this is great for Chinese users, it does little for users of other denominations.

The site uses two tab bars – the larger blue one and the dark grey one. The dark grey tab bar looks like it’s supposed to be sub headings of the main tab bar. However it is not. This makes it confusing and difficult to naviagte.

Roger Ramsey Building Website Usability

Roger Ramsey Building Website

Screen shot 2015-02-07 at 11.42.30 AM

The Roger Ramsey Building website exists to promote these Waikato renovations experts services. So the sites ability to promote these services will be kept in mind when judging it’s usability.

Information is displayed in a clear and accessible way. This is evident through the homepage text. Instead of large blocks of text, it is broken up into short sentences, bulletpoints, different fonts and a photo is used to break it up further.

While the bulletpoints on the homepage illustrate services offered, it’s difficult to find these services explained anywhere else on the site. Additional pages or galleries with this information may make the site more user friendly if the user is after this information.

The site doesn’t have any e-commerce capabilities – and so it shouldn’t. Sites for renovations can’t have e-stores due to them offering unique services with differing prices.
